新西兰纯野生刺参又有学名为澳大利亚刺参,仅限于生长在新西兰周边60-200米的无污染的沙质海床上,刺参体长约10-15厘米,生长周期大概5年。以南纬36度以惠灵顿起到南岛最南端的冷水海域产量为多,越南刺越长,那里水质清澈,无污染,又因为每个区域的地貌特征而令的颜色外形稍有不同。


新西兰有着严格而完善的环境保护法规,因此在渔农处的配额限制下,新西兰刺参每年的产量不大。

New Zealand wild caught sea cucumber (Stichopus Mollis) is also called Australia sea cucumber. They only grow in the sandy seabed within 60-200 meters offshore in New Zealand. The typical body length is approximately 10-15 centimeters, and the life cycle about 5 years. Main catch area is in the cold water from Wellington area to the Southernmost South Island. In this area, the water is crystal clear and without any pollution. The shape and color of the sea cucumber are slightly different in different catching zone.

 

New Zealand has strict environmental protection law. Due to the strict agriculture and fishery department quota each year, the yield of sea cucumber each year is limited.
